Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?

Paloma Vineyard

4013 Spring Mountain Road
St. Helena, California

Do you have to purchase wine?

Not at all. We try to keep our tasting fees fairly priced so that there is no pressure to purchase wine if you are just looking to come for a visit. If you are thinking about buying wine, we do waive tasting fees for Collector Club members and purchases of 2-3 bottles or more per person.

Is it the worth the drive?

We are known for our award-winning wine, stunning views from the top of Spring Mountain, and our down-to-earth hospitality. Trust us when we say it’s worth it!

The drive itself is pretty spectacular as well…

Is there an ideal time to visit?

We are open year-round for tastings! The most popular time to visit Napa is August through October (our region’s harvest season). During this time, our tasting room is quite busy so be sure to book ahead if possible. If you are looking for a quieter time to visit, spring is lovely. Bud break typically starts in April and the weather is quite pleasant into June. July through September are our warmest months and December to February are our cooler months.

In the neighborhood and hoping to drop in? Give us a call! If we have space, we would love to have you up. (707) 963-7504

Will there be food available at our tasting?

No, we do not serve food. However, we have lots of guests that bring picnics to sit and enjoy the views at one of our outdoor tables before or after their tasting! Please be sure to check with us for availability before your tasting!

Will the tasting be indoors or outdoors?

Our tastings are generally a combination of indoors and outdoors, so we encourage everyone to dress appropriately for the weather. If you prefer to taste inside, be sure to book a Private 1-on-1 tasting experience and let us know your preference at the time of booking. Learn more about our tasting options here.

How much does a tasting cost?

Tasting fees are $35 to $75 per person and are waived for purchases of 2-3 bottles, respectively, and for all Collector Club members.

Are reservations required?

Yes, reservations are required. Appointments are available Monday to Saturday between 10am and 4pm PST.

Who hosts our tastings?

Owner & winemaker, Sheldon Richards, loves to personally host our guests. More often than not, he’ll be sharing his first-hand stories and experiences with you!

When Sheldon is not available, Laura, our wine guru, will share stories and pour delicious wine.

Is it wheelchair accessible?

Yes, our tasting room is wheelchair accessible. Please let us know ahead of time and we would be happy to assist you upon arrival.

What is the largest group size we host?

We are set up to best host smaller, more intimate groups, but we can accommodate up to 16 people if needed. However, our online reservation system limits bookings to a maximum of 8 people. If your group is larger, please contact us directly at tastingroom@palomavineyard.com or (707) 963-7504 to inquire about availability. We will do our very best to accommodate.

If I purchase on-site, how does the shipping work?

Any wine that is purchased in the tasting room or online can be shipped to most states. To protect your wine from varying weather conditions in your state and along the shipping lanes to your state, your order may be held until it is safer to ship. Shipping prices vary based on quantity and destination. We offer volume shipping discounts and further discounts to Collector Club members. Please be sure to check our Shipping and Handling page for more information about states, weather holds, and pricing, and our Collectors Club page for more information about club discounts.
