2019 Year in Review Dec 27, 2019 | Our History Harvest of 2019 was subject to another set of fires. This time strictly North/North West of Napa in the Mendocino and Shasta regions. Fire, smoke, and power outages made it a challenging year. However, the smoke was mild, relatively speaking, and we suffered no permanent damage. As always, we made it through with the valiant help from our harvest volunteers. They were great—thank you all! This year, the county has required all wineries to update their user permits. For Paloma, it means some significant changes. The Paloma family home that Jim & Barb’s built and that we have tasted in for 26 years, is no longer an option for tastings. It has always been such an honor to welcome you all into our home and share our story with you. To this day, we still hear about how special the experience is. It saddens us that this will have to change, but we are working on plans that will make sure that the view and the hummingbirds are there with us in our new space! https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-nation/wp/2018/08/06/wildfires-continue-to-char-california-but-one-fire-is-in-a-destructive-league-of-its-own/
